Hey everybody, It's me, Annie! I haven't been on here very recently but that's because I was very busy. Summer's Birthday was last Monday and I had to plan it all by myself! Well, the modern girls helped. Kiley, Abby, and Sonali are Ms. B's other dolls, from Ms. B's time period. Anyways, I was in charge. Ms. B had taken Summer to a museum about flying airplanes and rockets and such for the day, so that's when we set up the party. I also wrapped presents for summer. Guess what she got? It was amazing! She got an Amelia Earhart set/outfit! Summer got a book, jacket, goggles, helmet, and scarf. I wonder what I'll get for my birthday?

Fun Fact: A word on Amelia Earhart, Summers role model. Amelia Earhart flew planes, or was an aviatrix ( The girl form for Aviator). She set many records, like being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic ocean solo. Wouldn't that be scary? Being all alone, for so long? However, she did it! If you want to read more about her, you can find a book or go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Earhart See you later!

Summer is here!

Yay! My Best Friend, Summer, is finally here! I was so excited when she came! Guess what Ms. B did to celebrate? No, nope, you'll never guess... She let us watch Heidi, in color! It was like watching it for the first time all over again! Having color makes a big difference! In case you didn't know, Shirley Temple is the star of Heidi! In fact, the children had to pledge to follow and listen to Shirley during the movie. (It was a fun game made up because Shirley liked to boss the other kids around because they weren't doing it right.) Of course, the Annie & Andrew show cast would have done it perfectly.

Alright, now for the fun fact: Although I may seem happy and cheery, most of the 1930's were hard. We were in the depression, and no one had very much money. Some girls wore something called feedsack, which was clothing made out of sacks of feed! I even have some things made out of that. Soon, feed companies picked up on this and started printing out pretty patterned sacks. It was a race to see who could make the best and prettiest patterns! Bye for now, everyone!

Summer's coming!!!

Guess what? My Human Friend, will call/refer to her as Ms. B, says Summer will be coming to our home! Hooray! Also, Ms. B is going to make me my Shirley Temple dress (Finally)! I find it funny that Summer is coming in Summer! Soon enough, we will have our stage, she will have her Shirley Temple dress, and we can perform our famous play! Well, we don't really know what it is, as we just re-enact our favorite ST scenes. My favorite is when Summer sings "Animal Crackers in my soup" and I dance. It will be sad w/o Andrew though... but Ms. B. has to find someone who can make a boy custom. Or who can cut hair... anyone? I just know you'll love him! Anyways, hooray! I'm so excited!!!

Fun 1937 fact: (get used to these, their in every post) 1937 saw many famous movie releases, like Snow White, and Heidi! Shirley Temple was known almost everywhere! The 1930's was/is often referred to as "the golden age of Hollywood" doesn't that sound glamorous? It makes perfect sense when you look around where I live, or visit the Broadway Theater District (two minutes away from me). It has the biggest collection of old (new to me, old to Ms. B) theaters in the world!
